Core psychodrama training in Brisbane gets underway in 2017 on Saturday the 18th February. Participants actively develop themselves as a psychodramatist and group leader using the experiential learning method of psychodrama.  The helping professions: mental health, psychotherapy, family therapy, community and organisational development, group leadership, counselling, pastoral care, allied health and other people centred professions, can immediately use elements of what is learnt in core training in their work.

Our Essentials programs are designed as an introduction to understanding people through the psychodramatic method and as a starting point to your investigation to see if learning psychodrama would add to your professional and personal life. As an introduction to psychodrama our Essentials programs have elements of theory, group experiences and an opportunity for you to apply what you've learnt. By immersing yourself in the method for two days, you'll begin to appreciate the power of psychodrama and group work, and see ways for it to positively impact on your life and your profession.

Getting with people in a compassionate but safe way is a valuable skill that can be learned and practiced. It is essential for parents, teachers, counsellors, mentors and leaders. A part of this is called empathy, another is often called "getting with the other person" in NLP they talk of second perceptual position, in psychodrama they talk of doubling and role reversal. This weekend is about increasing your understanding of how to increase your capacity to perceive others clearly. Develop real relationships. To be authentic and not to have to be the centre of attention. And, even more importantly, learn to free yourself from blaming others. 16-18 December - Friday evening, Sat and Sun

These workshop will focus on building a culture in which relationships flourish, where we are able to live and work. In which healing and purpose can be fulfilled. Passion and kindness go hand in hand along with a vision of creative living. Learning to reflect on ones behaviour and others will assist in making interventions. Learning to embrace conflict and problem solving, rather than avoiding concerns that arise, will strengthen relationships and assist in the development of a positive group culture. Leadership abilities and the application of the psychodramatic method will be a focus. Each weekend will have a specific psychodramatic focusing on practice and theory.

Details coming

This workshop series is designed for anyone who is willing to take the time, and has the time, to focus on what is important to them. The workshop theme of going deep relates to the capacity of the psychodrama method to uncover important elements in a person’s life and fully take these into account. Depth can relate to depth of feeling such as mirth, love, gratitude, joy, appreciation, suffering, caring, sadness, bliss, or it can relate to depth of intention, purpose, or goal, or it can relate to depth of creativity, vision, or freedom. Flying high relates to the removal of barriers, the dissolving of worries, the emergence from painful or troubling issues or to connection or reconnection with spiritual ideals, feelings or experiences that can allow a person to feel like they are flying. A series – October 11, 18, 25, November 1, 5 (Saturday), 8, 15, 22, Tuesdays

THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED AND WILL BE READVERTISED SHORTLY

This series will be a collaborative deep engagement and examination of freedom. What it means to you, to others, and how, oh how, on earth can you, or I, or anyone, choose freedom and be free. We may have to kill off sentimentality, move beyond yearning, engage our courage, enter the naked areas of our hidden lives. We wont do it alone. The teaching will come from you, from me, from the group, from our relating, as we journey together. The psychodramatic method will serve us as a means to enter the realms we need, to find the spontaneity and creativity to craft new paths for our thinking, our feeling, and our actions. If you are interested or conflicted about coming please ring me. Let’s chat about where you are and work out whether this workshop will be useful for you at this time. This program will suit people with no experience of psychodrama.

Dates: July 4, 11, 18, 25, Aug 1, 8, 13 (Saturday), 15 - Mondays
