Group Work and Psychodrama Workshop - 5 days - October 2025

Event Cost:
$1120

Introduction:

The purpose of this five-day intensive workshop is to train in psychodrama, sociodrama, sociometry, role training and general group work. It is designed to strengthen abilities to practice the psychodramatic method in a wide variety of settings, including psychotherapy and growth groups, in community groups, in individual counselling and psychotherapy, in education, staff training, or in pastoral care and to function in a leadership capacity in groups and organisations.

The workshop is for beginning, intermediate and advanced trainees. Those attending come from Australia, New Zealand and other parts of the world.

Learning Outcomes and Process:

Those who attend will experience a wide range of concerns emerging in group sessions. There will be a greater development of new ways of functioning as psychodrama directors, role trainers, auxiliaries, group leaders and group members, as a result of contacting other aspects of the self and through supervised practice.

Trainees can expect to direct psychodrama, sociometry, sociodrama and role training sessions. You will learn a considerable amount of psychodrama theory and practice. The emphasis is on supervised experiential learning, producing, and integration of theory and practice, leading to more satisfaction in professional functioning and personal living.  There will be time set aside for writing to further assist the integration of this method into professional practice.

Leaders:

Elizabeth Synnot is a Trainer, Educator and Practitioner.  She has been conducting psychodrama training, and supervision in its ethical application, for many years.  She delights in the experiential learning process, that includes in-the-moment supervision, as group life and enactments unfold.  In her workshops, you can expect that this experiential learning will be accompanied by discussions, supervision and oral reports.  Her application of this methodology is in organisational settings, some community settings, with families and some individuals working psychotherapeutically.  Contact Elizabeth by text or phone on +61 411 876 969 or via email dizzysynnot@gmail.com .
