Psychodrama Training and Development
Extended Weekend Workshop 7 to 9 November 2025
GROUP LEADERSHIP - THEORY AND PRACTICE
This workshop will focus on the development of the ability of a person to be a group leader.
We will have experiences from which we will consider how groups work.
The development of the group over its lifetime will be considered from different theories of group functioning including psychodrama.
A leader intervenes in the group so as to create mutual relationships and a culture where the group members can consider all types of issues in a free and open atmosphere.
This training will assist participants in developing leadership abilities in all situations and to integrate learning done in the group to their daily life – work, play and relationships – with a view to increasing their capacity to rise creatively to life’s challenges.
Learning to apply the systemic action process known as the psychodrama method is grounded in workshop events and participants’ interests.
Being a participant you can expect to be actively involved, have fun, and work hard as you enact scenes from life and imagination with the guidance of the director. People meet in depth by assisting in one-another’s dramas and the group life. Action is involving and teaches new life-skills.
This program is designed for professional people at all levels who are involved in health, theatre, management, leadership, consultancies, education, coaching, mentoring, supervision, art, writing, teaching, human potential and creative therapies. The process will assist in the deepening of abilities to step into the shoes of others and this will contribute to the effectiveness of those who are therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, health workers, managers, trainers and educators, actors, artists, writers and poets.
The course will consist of enactment, group participation and discussion. Participants are expected to be actively involved. The learning of new abilities may be emotionally challenging and participants are required to be able to sustain their life and be participating in areas such as studies, employment and social and creative activities.
A certificate of attendance will be given on request and may be used for points towards required professional development and psychodrama certification. The training hours are recognised by AANZPA and can lead to certification as a psychodramatist, sociodramatist, role trainer or sociometrist.
